January 3, 2008

If your New Year’s resolution is to spend more time exercising, then you will benefit from NorthPointe Health and Wellness Campus’ upcoming free education seminar. Dr. Kenneth Klein, non-surgical orthopedics and sports medicine specialist, will present “Workout Woes - Is My Body Falling Apart?” highlighting how to prevent common workout injuries. The seminar is Wednesday, January 9 from 7-8 p.m. in the Community Education Room at NorthPointe.

NorthPointe Health and Wellness Campus opened its doors on December 3 in the Roscoe area. One of their service areas includes a fitness/wellness center with more than 100 pieces of cardio/fitness equipment and an aquatic center. The new medically integrated wellness center combines healthy living with sound medical advice. NorthPointe will be providing a series of free education seminars in the upcoming months on healthy living.

Dr. Klein’s talk will focus on the differences between exercising at the age of 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70! There are ways to exercise safely and reduce injuries. Josh Carlson, director of NorthPointe Wellness, will also discuss this topic and answer questions.

“Many patients come to me and ask, 'Is my body falling apart?' when they experience a new injury,” explains Dr. Klein. “There are right ways and wrong ways to exercise, especially depending on your age bracket. Sound advice can help you enjoy your workouts and reduce injuries.”

NorthPointe is located at 5605 E. Rockton Road in Roscoe, located near the southwest corner of East Rockton and Willowbrook Roads. For more information, call 815-525-4000 or visit www. NorthPointeHealth.org.
